Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen says new and creative travel packages need to be created to attract Chinese visitors from Henan in Eastern China to Malaysia and vice versa.

Dr NG says that following a visit to the province in the eastern central part of China, Malaysia would work to come up with strong bilateral tourism initiatives to encourage a greater flow of tourists between both countries.

“Henan, a province of 100 million people is landlocked,” says the Minister. “Henan people simply love the sea and beaches, especially during the cold winter months. Due to the geographical proximity and cultural similarities, Malaysia will be a very attractive destination for the Henan people.”
