Market research firm, OSK Research says that spending on mobile phones in Malaysia will increase as the economy shows signs of improvement.

“We expect mobile revenue to pick up momentum in 2010 as economic activities gather pace,” it said in a report. There are currently 28 million mobile users in Malaysia.

Meanwhile, MIDF Research says that internet broadband use will also expand in the country as Telekom Malaysia Bhd launches a high-speed broadband internet project.

OSK Research forecasts that total broadband subscribers will reach 2.6 million by year-end.
