The suspension of direct flights between Stockholm and Kuala Lumpur due to the global economic downturn, will not have a huge impact on tourism numbers says Tourism Minister Dr Ng Yen Yen.

The Minister says that the Malaysia will focus on eco tourism packages for Swedish visitors and will be actively promoting the Malaysia My Second Home programme to Swedish consumers.

Ng says that last year 48,646 Swedish tourists visited Malaysia compared with 44,746 in 2007.
