Malaysia to collaborate in fight against cyber crime
May 25, 2010 by: editorMalaysia’s Information Communication and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim, said that the country plans to work in collaboration with a number of countries in the fight against cyber crime.
“The rise in cyber security attacks over the last few years reinforces the urgency to address the issue through the establishment of appropriate global frameworks for assessment and exchange of information related to cyber security,” he said at the opening of the World Information and Communication Summit in Seoul.
He said the cooperation would cover technology as well as developments in the monitoring of crimes in the cyber world.
Last year the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) opened its global headquarters in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. IMPACT is a platform for governments and industry players to exchange ideas and best practices and work together in combating cyber threats.
