Malaysia sixth in Asia for corporate social responsibility

Malaysia is sixth among the top 10 Asian countries that are focusing on corporate social responsibility (CSR) according to a survey carried out by CSR Asia.
Australia was in first place followed by China and Hong Kong.
In a statement CSR Asia said that leading companies in the Asia Pacific region had shown an increased level of CSR disclosure, especially in the area of corporate governance.
Overall, Malaysia scored 59.6 per cent for governance, codes and policies, 23.4 per cent for CSR strategy and communication, 34 per cent for marketplace and supply chain, 27.3 per cent for workplace and people, 28.4 per cent for environment and 39 per cent for community and development.
