Malaysia-India task force on education to meet

February 1, 2010 by: editor

A joint task force set up between India and Malaysia to address higher education issues will meet next month to discuss the equalism of degrees between the two countries.

The joint task force was set up last year to ensure a free flow of students between the two countries.

India’s Acting High Commissioner to Malaysia B.N. Reddy told reporters that  educational ties and collaboration between the two countries were poised for growth, especially after the recent successful visit by Malaysia’s Prime Minister Najib Razak to India.

“There are a number of proposals under consideration between institutions in India and Malaysia to set up campus in Malaysia,” said Reddy, adding that currently, there were about 3,000 Malaysian students in India and about 2,000 Indian students in Malaysia.
