Malaysia’s Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir says that the country has the potential to be a major producer of halal vaccines and help improve public health in Muslim countries.

“Currently, the majority of halal vaccines are produced and consumed in non-Muslim countries. Yet, the reception is tremendous.

So, if the vaccines can be produced domestically, I am certain, we can meet demand for the product in Asia,” Mukhriz said.

And he added that the entrepreneurs in the healthcare sector are being encouraged with loans, incentives and grants.
