Iskandar aims for new investors

Iskandar Investment Berhad, the company which is promoting and co-ordinating the development of the Iskandar region, says that it is focusing on attracting investors in the health and education sectors in the wake of the global economic crisis.

Managing director, Arlida Ariff said that ensuring a continuing flow of investment in Iskandar is becoming more difficult.

“We are focusing on health and education services as the two segments are the least affected during the current economic downturn,” Arlida said.

She added that Iskandar’s major investors are from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, which have not been as badly exposed to the global credit crunch as investors from other countries.
